In pedestrian mode, Kapten for iPhone allows you to use public transports and guides you to your final destination. In such use, the public transport segment is provided through a detailed roadbook. This feature is available for most of the cities with a rail transport network (underground, commuter rail, tram…)**. A stand-alone station to station mode is also available.
Maximum freedom at a very competitive price
To give you maximum flexibility, this Kapten for iPhone license is valid for 30 days and can be renewed at any time or can be optionally converted into a perpetual license.
Otherwise, once your license expired, your Kapten for iPhone still offers you the Ktag (personal POI) feature without map support.

Very impressed by: accuracy of maps (even if dated 2009), accuracy of radar traps, accuracy of applicable speed limit, speed and accuracy of navigation, clear voice commands, ability to zoom in and out. Portrait rather than landscape mode in 2D is also very handy! I had already purchased a good European GPS which I was able to return unopened because I found this app just in time. It works a lot better than many of the GPSs ive had in the past, and doesnt need any data connection Better for security and handier too, because the iPhone is always in my pocket, rather than forgotten in the car. I dont understand the negative comments left by some users because I had such a great experience with my French bought 3GS iPhone.

I recently had a 2 week trip in France. I looked at renting a GPS from the car rental company, but it was almost as much for that as the car itself! It would be cheaper to buy a Garmin or TomTom device. Then. Doh! Get an iphone app. I found this one and I am extremely pleased. It uses GPS but does not use international data roaming (as opposed to the built-in google map). This turned out to be a key feature I wasnt aware of. The data roaming charges are very high for US users. I am very happy with the monthly pricing. I purchased 1 month as thats all I needed. It worked well on the road. It worked well walking around the city (except in the very oldest part of the city center where there was very little GPS signal). I definitely recommend this app if you need to find your way around europe. The car and pedestrian directions worked well. Pedestrian asks if you want to take public transport (I didnt try this). I dont need it in the US when in my car, but if I have a trip (to Boston or New York or ... ) I will buy the US version for a month, even for a short trip. Good value for money.
Bought this app for a motorcycle weekend in Spain. The app is very big (about 1.5 G) and takes a while to download and load. First time, it crashed every time I tried to use it for navigation, so I deleted it and reloaded it. Now, it crashes about every third time I try to navigate with it. Looks like it has some great features, but it seems to crash too often to be reliable.
Very usefull app and nicely done.Perfect monthly suscribe GPS app.
